French team wins Marrakesh kart-racing context
French team "Vacances Dire" won on Sunday the 6th edition of the Marrakesh kart racing contest in which 132 pilots from Morocco, France and Italy took part.
The 22 teams (6 pilots per team) raced for 24 hours non-stop on a circuit of 1,100 meters.
The winning team made 1,305 laps, followed by the Moroccan pilots (1,304 laps) and another French team "RCN Impact" (1,299 laps).
Organizers said the race seeks to promote this sport which is not very popular and promote tourism.
For the first time, the race took place in downtown Marrakesh.
