AL delegation visits Tunisia this month

Originally published

A spokesman for the secretary general of the Arab League (AL), Amr Mousa, said that a delegation from the Arab League will head for Tunisia on January 22 to meet with senior Tunisian officials.

The delegation added that the delegation will be headed by the AL chief assistant secretary general, Ahmad Bin Hali, and that the visit falls in the course of preparing for the forthcoming Arab summit due to be held in Tunisia.

The spokesman said that the visit was due on January 12, but was postponed in light of the care shown by the Tunisian side that the delegation to meet with the Tunisian foreign minister al-Habib Bin Yahya. News were rumored on Tunisia's apology to receive the AL delegation since two days giving no reason for that.

The last Arab summit was held in March 2003 by an exceptional summit held in Sharm Esh Sheikh, and its agenda then was overshadowed by the American preparations for invading Iraq.
