Lahoud and peace in the ME
Lebanese President Emile Lahoud stressed Wednesday that the countries concerned in peace process in the Middle East can't ignore the Syrian and Lebanese proposals for any solution in the region.
During a meeting with military and security delegations on the occasion of Christmas and New year held in Beirut, Lahoud said that Lebanon has been able to reserve its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and with coordination with Syria, they formed a strong front in the face of pressure and conspiracies.
He made clear that all the concerned countries are convinced that any peace formula couldn't go bypass the Syrian and Lebanese proposals.
Meanwhile, Lebanese Premier Rafic Hariri conferred with the Secretary General of the Syrian - Lebanese Higher Council Nasri al-Khouri on the relations between Syria and Lebanon. Economic greements are expected to be signed next month between the two states.
