Qathafi, Butaflika hold telephone talks
Libya's Leader of the Revolution Colonel Muammar al Qathafi discussed with the Algerian president Abdul Aziz Butaflika, during a telephone call on Tuesday evening, bilateral relations between the two states, and the issue of transferring the presidency of the Arab Maghreb federation to Libya.
During the telephone call, Butaflika stressed that Libya's presidency over the federation will give a push forward for the federation, and will open up new prospects to enhance its march.
In this respect, Qathafi expressed his satisfaction over the way in which the presidency of the Arab Maghreb federation was transferred to Libya, stressing that the issue of western Sahara will be in the forefront of issues to be debated to the federation's forthcoming summit.
Qathafi indicated to the Libyan News agency yesterday that an agreement will be made on the date of the next summit of the Arab Maghreb Federation in Libya, following consultations among the member states.
