Four killed in a car explosion in Irbil
News reports in Irbil said that a booby trapped car went off at the entrance of the headquarters of Iraq's Ministry of the Interior, and this resulted in killing four persons and wounding other 20.
Preliminary news reports expected the operation to have been implemented by a suicider, who detonated himself inside his car at the entrance of the ministry. Fire erupted in the building, and the explosion resulted in destroying several adjoining buildings.
The sources added that ambulances were seen transporting the wounded and the murdered from the site of the attack. Police members cordoned the area and prevented access to it. Worthy mentioning that a similar operation was foiled, one and a half months earlier, that targeted the same building and resulted in damages.
Meantime, a spokesman for the American army said that one Iraqi security forces member was killed, during a peace keeping operation in Musil, to the north of Iraq. The spokesman, who belongs to the airborne 101 contingent, did not give other information on the nature of the operation, and the implications of killing the Iraqi security member.
