Originally published

Egypt's Prime Minister Atef Ebeid said that the summit meeting between President Hosni Mubarak and his Syrian counterpart Bashar Al-Assad in Sharm El-Sheikh Wednesday is "very important'.

During a joint news conference with his Syrian counterpart Naji Otari, Ebeid added that the summit comes within the context of mutual understanding and continued political consultation between the Egyptian and Syrian leaders. The date and venue of the summit were decided in a brief contact between Mubarak and Assad, said Ebeid, adding that the summit targeted a comprehensive dialogue on the latest developments in the Middle East.
