An explosion in the Higher Council For Islamic Revolution in Baghdad

Originally published

News reports in Baghdad said that one woman was killed, and two other persons injured, in a large explosion in the Islamic Dawa ( information) house which belongs to the Higher Council For Islamic Revolution in Iraq, today morning.

Stories varied on the reasons behind the explosion. One story said that it resulted from a bomb explosion planted in the headquarters, which is in al-Jihad quarters to the west of Baghdad, while other sources said that a sound of a plane was heard followed by an explosion in the building which is occupied by Bader forces of the council. The building was leveled to the ground as the explosion was very strong.

The Iraqi police hurried to the site of the explosion, and started investigations to know the implications of the attack. No comment was issued yet by the Iraqi police or the American occupation forces about the attack.
