UAE will hand over al-Sahaf under Iraqi request
The charge de affairs of the United Arab Emirates UAE embassy in Iraq, Ali Seif al-Kaabi, said that his country will hand over the former Iraqi minister of information, Muhammad Saeed al-Sahaf, to the Iraqi judiciary in case Iraq asks for that.
The Iraqi daily al-Sabah, issued yesterday in Baghdad, quoted al-Kaabi as saying "The UAE was and is still clear in dealing with the Iraqi brothers."
He added that his country is "ready to hand over everyone proved to be convicted and at an official request," noting that al-Sahaf's name was not in the list of wanted Iraqis, but if it is requested to hand him over, Iraq has the rights to that."
