Syrian parliamentary delegation in Iran

Iranian Speaker of Shura Council ( Parliament ) Mahdi Karrubi expressed appreciation the national and pan-Arab stances Syria adopts under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad in defending the Arab and Islamic causes.

During his meeting with a delegation of Syrian People Assembly headed by PA's office member and the head of the Syrian - Iranian Friendship Parliamentary Committee Muhammad Habash, Karrubi expressed his high appreciation over the wisdom of Syrian stance in dealing with the Israeli aggression on its land.

He described the Syrian - Iranian ties as strong, and that the relation with Syria has always been special in the Iranian foreign policy.

Habash for his part stressed the necessity for enhancing the relation between the two countries in all fields referring to the necessity of confronting the US backed Israeli campaigns of lies and accusations launched against syria.

He called for backing the Palestinian people resistance against the Israeli occupation in order to restore their rights, and for Iraqis to run their own affairs and select an independent government.
