Al-Assad to visit Greece on December 15

Official sources at the Greek embassy in Damascus said that President Bashar al-Assad and his wife will pay a visit to Greece on December 15th.

Meantime, President Bashar al-Assad received Greek Minister of development Apostolos-Athanasios Tsokhatzopoulos at the People's Palace on Sunday morning.

Talks during the meeting dealt with bilateral relations between the two countries and the joint projects being carried out, particularly in the gas and power fields.

Talks also centered in the important role which the EU could play in achieving peace and stability in the region to enhance the development process.

Talks also dealt with the forthcoming visit of President al-Assad to Greece. The meeting was attended by Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources Ibrahim Haddad and the Greek Ambassador in Damascus Savilis Papa Youna.
