One German killed by bullets in Muscat
One German tourist was killed by bullets near the British embassy in Muscat in a vague incident, and the second of its kind in one month.
In a statement, the British embassy in Muscat said that the incident took place on Tuesday, during day time, in an area which had a traffic jam. A British diplomat said that the victim is German.
The statement indicated that another European tourist was hit by bullets and was gravely wounded in November near a hospital in Muscat, under similar vague conditions. The statement indicated that the Omani authorities said that the incident occurred while he was fishing.
Oman is visited by 650,000 foreign tourists every year, thanks to its unmatched coasts and ancient palaces.
