Moussa supports giving Iran, Turkey seats as observers at the Arab League
The secretary general of the Arab League (AL) Amr Moussa yesterday welcomed requests made by Iran and Turkey to the organization to have seats as observers.
Moussa told journalists at Cairo's airport before he had headed to Lebanon and then to the USA, "we welcome the two requests of Iran and Turkey" to join the Arab League as an observer."
The spokesman for the Iranian foreign ministry Hameed Rida Aseifi said that Iran asked to be given the position of an observer at the AL. In January this year, Moussa said that Turkey might join the AL as an observer.
