Asharq Al Awsat: Spanish FM: Morocco and Algeria, cornerstone of Euro-Mediterranean cooperation
Spanish foreign minister, Ana Maria Palacio, who visited Morocco on Thursday said Morocco and Algeria, and Maghreban states at large, are the cornerstone of cooperation between the European Union and south Mediterranean countries.
In the absence of cooperation between Morocco and Algeria, Euro-Mediterranean cooperation (between the northern and southern Banks of the Mediterranean) will be even more difficult, the head of the Spanish diplomacy told Saudi daily "Asharq Al Awsat." She went on that Spain encourages Rabat and Algiers to conduct a multi-level dialogue that should address particularly regional and bilateral issues.
