Al-Assad, Lahoud meet on Lebanese issues, ME developments

Syria's President Bashar al-Assad and Lebanese President Emil Lahoud held in Damascus on Tuesday on the internal situation in Lebanon stressing Syria's standby Lebanon to enhance its national unity and to confront threats and challenges facing the two states.

They also reviewed the situation in the region asserting the importance of consultation and coordination in facing current challenges. Al-Assad and Lahoud stressed the importance of "the fraternity and cooperation agreement" signed between the two states and of expanding the prospects of cooperation between them in all domains.
