Okaz: Executor of al-Muhayya operation is wanted number 19 Saudi Arabia: al-Qaida is unable to foil the regime
The Saudi daily Okaz disclosed yesterday that the executor of al- Muhayya residential complex in Riyadh last week was one of the 19 wanted persons in the "terrorist list" declared by the Saudi ministry of the interior after Riyadh explosion in May this year. This came at a time when the Saudi authorities stressed that al-Qaida organization "will not succeed in toppling the regime," in Saudi Arabia.
However, a statement issued last week denied al-Qaida is involvement in al-Muhayya explosion. It said that the organization is only responsible for al-Khubar explosion in 1996 and all "operations in Tigris and the Euphrates area," in remarks to the attacks against the American forces in Iraq.
The daily Okaz said yesterday that the executor of al-Muhayya operation was one persons riding a booby trapped car painted in colours of the special emergency forces, while two other groups; the first was on top of a mountain overlooks the complex and the second in a car supporting him by a cover of intensive fire so as to be able to penetrate into the main gate.
The paper said that one of the owners of the complex, Youssef Abdul Rahman al-Muhayya, said he saw a private emergency car run by and "one person wearing emergency men uniforms and after less than two minutes of entering the main gate in the opposite direction the explosion took place." The paper quoted a representative for the Saudi minister of the interior saying that "al-Qaida organization would is just a group of gangers that can ever reached the level that it can topple a regime."
