Moroccan airline receives its first Airbus a 321-200
Moroccan carrier "Royal Air Maroc" (RAM) received on Tuesday its first Airbus A 321-300 while a second one will be delivered in a month, part of an order for 4 planes of the same type, the company announced.
The new Airbus will be flying RAM's European network.
RAM has invested over US$ 200 million in 2003 to develop and modernize its fleet. Between 2002 and 2010, the company will purchase 24 medium haul planes, for a total cost of US$ 1.5 billion.
By purchasing the Airbus A 321-300, we seek to give to our customers a young fleet with updated technology and meeting international standards of comfort and quality, says RAM CEO, Mohamed Berrada.
Despite the crisis affecting the air transport sector for three years now, Royal Air Maroc continues to invest in its fleet in order to accompany accelerated growth in our country, and particularly in tourism, adds Berrada.
RAM carried in 2003 3.2 million passengers in 40 countries in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and North America.
