Iraqi national and Islamic forces delegation in Beirut

Originally published

Head of the Iraqi National and Islamic Forces delegation Wamid Nazmi stressed on Friday that there are two red lines (uncompromising stands) for the Iraqis: the country's lands cannot be used for aggression on Syria, and there can be no pipeline extending to Haifa, Palestine.

Nazmi said during a meeting in Beirut with Maan Bashour, Secreatry-General of the Pan-Arab Conference, that the Iraqi Coordination Council is currently grouping representatives of four main political blocs keen to preserve the country's Arab and Islamic identity.

The Iraqi politician added that "we call for national, not sectarian, representationÉour concentration is focused against the occupation and its repercussionsÉthe right stance is to cling to Arab identity and the shift towards democracy."
