Jordan's prime minister Faisal al-Fayez and the Iraqi minister of the interior Nour al-Badran, currently visiting Jordan discussed security cooperation between the two states. This was in the course of the agreement signed to train Iraqi security members in Jordan.

The Jordanian news agency Petra quoted al-Badran as saying that the meeting dealt with "joint cooperation in training areas for the Iraqi security forces in order to make use of the great experiences of the Jordanian ministry of the interior." The Iraqi minister indicated "initial agreements" between the two sides in this respect and gave no further details. Jordan announced by the beginning of this month it will train 30,000 Iraqi security members on its land. This was in the course of rehabilitating the capacity of the Iraqi security establishments.

For his part, the Jordanian prime minister said that "the means to end the sufferings of the Iraqi people lie in the speedy elimination of the American and British occupation of Iraq." He stressed that Jordan as ever will stand beside the people of Iraq. "

Meantime, the Jordanian minister of the Interior Samir al-Habashenah who held a meeting with his Iraqi peer said that "Jordan's borders are opened before humanitarian and Iraqi patients."
