Nasrullah gives Israel last chance: prisoners will return by negotiations or other means

Originally published

The secretary general of the Lebanese Hizbullah party Hassan Nasrullah gave the current negotiations to exchange prisoners and detainees the last chance announcing yesterday that the party will not put up with more Israeli deception and that it is committed to returning back the prisoners to their families through negotiations or other means, in remarks to an earlier threat he had made that the failure of this round of negotiations will push the party to work for arresting more Israeli soldiers.

Meantime, Israel’s defense minister Shaoul Mofaz announced that the Hizbullah party is planning a large operation against Israel, while the Israeli foreign minister Shalom Silvan held Syria responsible for the operations carried out by the Hizbullah in occupied Shebaa farms.

In an Iftar banquet for a women society yesterday, Nasrullah said that the Lebanese resistance is "committed to returning back prisoners to their homes through negotiations or without negotiations," noting that the Party "will not bear more Israeli deception in the file."

He added "our conditions are clear and final and also our demands are clear and final, and we do not have anything to give up. Our message is also clear." He added "time is passing and I want to say clearly that Hizbullah will not bear more deception because that means 'the Israelis want to say that the (negotiations) is over' and you have to resort to other options."

Nasrullah disclosed that the German mediation is continuous, but is slow, and that the party has not received until today ( yesterday) any list in the name of 400 Palestinian detainees and the German side was delivered no list, considering that the media campaign in Israel is part of an internal problem there and part of a psychological war launched against the party and the detainees themselves.

He added that the previous phases were completed and are written and all sides have copies of it. It states Israel to release all Lebanese, Syrian, Jordanian and Arab detainees; the bodies of Lebanese detainees and information about some 300 Lebanese and Palestinians who were missed during the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 1982 and it is only left the formation of a list of 400 Palestinian detainees after an agreement on their number and the special criteria to choose them.

On the other hand, Mofaz announced yesterday that Hizbullah is preparing for a large attack against Israel, noting that the Israeli army has taken measures "in light of that." He told the Israeli radio "we, within the defense department, consider that the Hizbullah party is preparing for a large terrorist attack, greater than the common attacks against the northern borders and that the army has taken measures in light of that."
