Originally published

The "Higher Council Of the Islamic Revolution in Iraq" led by Abdul Aziz al-Hakim decided in conclusion of its first conference in al-Najaf to convert its armed wing Feilaq Bader to a civil organization.

Public relations director for "Bader Organization," Ahmad Dueibel, said that by "converting the name from Feilaq Bader to Bader Organization, this means that this Feilaq has become an institutional organization composed of several establishments like the relief establishment, and the establishment of culture, the media, sport and youths and the economic foundation."

In their final statement, the participants in the conference whose number exceeds 700 underlined the "importance of re-organizing the organization in compliance with the development of the (current) phase." They called for "ending the American- British occupation of Iraq and returning back the authority to the Iraqis. They also called for "electing a constitutional council that would write down the constitution."
