Arab war veterans reject UN peace plan for sahara

Originally published

Arab War veterans unanimously rejected, here Thursday, the Peace Plan for the Sahara crafted by James Baker, personal envoy of UN Secretary General for the Sahara, warning that it might cause instability in the North West African region.

The "Union of Arab war veterans and victims of war," considers, in recommendations published at the end of their 15th General Assembly held in the Jordanian capital, that the adoption by the UN Security Council of a new resolution on the Moroccan Sahara "goes against efforts for the quest of a solution to the Sahara issue and would pave the way for insecurity and instability in the region."
