Al-Abram: Powell visit to Kenya a positive sign

A US official told Al-Abram that Powell is primarily concerned with discussing the future of the peace process in Sudan, out of Egypt's interest in its future Sudan. The official said Powell's visit to Kenya aimed at encouraging negotiators to accomplish the agreement that ends civil war in the South.

The official said progress has already been achieved, adding that Powell would not have headed for Kenya if such a progress had not been achieved. He said PowellÕs presence in Kenya would contribute to reaching a peace agreement soon.
