Syria statement before the UN Security Council on Israel's seperation wall
Being the Arab member at the UN Security Council and the head of the Arab group at the UN for this month, Syria called on the Security Council yesterday to hold an immediate session to discuss the Israeli government decision to continue building the racial separation wall in the occupied territories including Jerusalem.
In a statement yesterday, Syria's permanent representative at the United Nations, Faisal Miqdad underlined that this session will deal with the "Israeli illegal settlement activities in the Palestinian territories."
He pointed out that the Security Council will hold today a consultative session to discuss Syria's request on behalf of the Arab group to be followed by a formal session for all member states at the UN next week.
