Demonstration of protest in Damascus

In the first people's reaction to the Syria's accountability law and the Israeli raid against the Syrian territories, more than 500 Syrian citizens representing parties and non- governmental organization yesterday took the streets in Damascus in a protest demonstration calling for boycott of American goods.

The demonstration started from in front of the headquarters of the European Commission in Damascus until the Syrian parliament. The demonstrators chanted slogans denouncing the American legislation which calls for economic sanctions against Damascus.

They also carry banners saying that "Syria will not be terrified by sanctions." The demonstrators burnt the American flag and deplored the Israeli- biased American policy.
