Moroccan killed by Spanish civil guard at border

Originally published

A Moroccan man was shot dead end of last week by a Spanish civil guard on the borders with the Spain-occupied city of Sebta on Friday, in what Spanish authorities said was an accident.

Mustapha Lahrach was hit by a bullet while at the no-man's land, Spanish official sources said. The Spanish government said in a statement late on Friday that the man was killed when a Spanish officer shot into the air after a group of Moroccans engaged in a brawl with the Spanish civil guard.

The Spanish official source insists that the gun fire that killed the man went out accidentally. The father of six children worked as a porter at the border. The case was referred to the investigating judge in the city of Sebta, after the civil guard has established an internal report on the incident.
