Burns holds talks in Yemen
US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs William Joseph Burns arrived yesterday in Sanaa in a 24 hour visit during which he holds talks with the Yemeni officials concerning cooperation between the two countries.
A Yemeni official source said that "the American official will hold during his visit talks with the Yemeni officials concerning bilateral relations and areas of joint cooperation between the two countries." This visit, however, comes after the US Secretary Of State Colin Powell stressed on Monday that he was notified from Sanaa of the danger of terrorist acts targeting foreign interests in Yemen.
The Yemeni prime minister Abdul Qader Bajmal accused the USA on Thursday the US excessive demands on Yemen in the framework of the war on terrorism. He said that Yemen does not have enough funds to withstand the increasing American demands in the war against terrorism.
