Sudanese daily suspended

The national council for the press in Sudan has stopped the Sudanese daily al-Sahafa from publication as from yesterday Wednesday until next Friday.

This suspension is on the background of an advertising issued by the paper in its Monday issue for the Ethiopian airlines for flights to France, using wine as one of the means for attraction, considering that as a violation to the "press law" issued in 1999.

On the other hand, the Sudanese specialized authorities destroyed some 24,000 bottles of imported wines which were brought into the country by smuggling.
