Saudi Arabia: releasing al-Ghamidi wife, daughter

Originally published

Saudi Arabia's authorities yesterday released the wife and daughter of one of the 19 suspects who carried the Riyadh attacks in May this year, Bandar al-Ghamidi.

Al-Ghamidi's father, Abdul Rahman, said that his son's wife and her daughter were released after the authorities completed investigation with them.

Abdul Rahman stressed that his son is not guilty concerning accusations addressed to him, noting his son's participation in the war against the Soviet Union in Afghanistan and then his travel to teach Islamic jurisprudence in several countries. A matter which caused the Saudi authorities to suspect him.

Abdul Rahman indicated that his son traveled to Philippines and Sudan and then returned back to Saudi Arabia where he worked as an Imam for one mosque in Riyadh before he returned back to Afghanistan to fight the American forces.
