Mubarak, Zayed discuss the situation in the region

During his short visit to Abu Dhabi, President Hosni Mubsarak of Egypt discussed with the United Arab Emirates UAE President Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan the situation in Iraq and the Middle East peace process.

The UAE news agency said that the talks covered "efforts exerted to establish peace and stability in Iraq and furnishing conditions capable of supporting the march of peace in the Middle East as well as fraternal relations and joint cooperation between the two countries."

A source close to the Egyptian presidency said that Mubarak was due to make a short visit to Saudi Arabia where he will hold talks with its senior officials. The source added that Mubarak will discuss with the king and the crown prince conditions in Iraq and the Palestinian territories.
