One year imprisonment for Libyan who tried to attack al-Faisal

Originally published

Al-Jeeza minor crimes court in Egypt yesterday sentenced the Libyan Mahmoud al-Bashir Ahmad after he was convicted of attacking Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal during the recent meeting of the Arab foreign ministers in Cairo.

A judicial source announced that the court stated to jail al-Bashir ( 27 year old) for one year imprisonment on charge of boxing al-Faisal whereas it found the other Libyan Fatehi Bashir Saad ( 25) year old as not guilty.

The court considered that the "action made by the convicted man constitutes an insult for the representative of one country in another Arab country that might be conducive to severing fraternal relations among Arab states."
