Human rights association points fingers at Polisario atrocities in Tindouf

The Association of Victims of Human Rights Violations in Polisario Prisons (ASVIPO) drew the attention of the international community on crimes against humanity committed by the Algeria-backed Polisario guerrilla movement that is claiming the independence of southern Moroccan provinces.

The association highlighted in a release the plight of Moroccan prisoners sequestered in Tindouf camps (southwestern Algeria) following the publication of a report by the French NGO "France Liberte" on human rights violations in Tindouf camps.

"Over 1700 Moroccan Sahrawis died or disappeared as a result of the atrocities perpetrated by Polisario mercenaries, genuine enemies of people in the Moroccan Sahara," deplored the association.

ASVIPO also recalled the embezzlement of the humanitarian aid sent to the sequestered population by the Polisario leaders who sell them in Algeria and neighboring African countries.

Polisario's reaction to the report of "France Liberte" which also decided to halt all support to the mercenaries was full of lies and prevarication to conceal its crimes against humanity and the embezzlement of European aid, underlined the association, calling on international organizations, especially Spanish and Italian NGOs, to follow the example of "France Liberte."

"The fact that several non-governmental organizations have decided to stop backing the Polisario mercenaries provides crystal-clear evidence to the end of their theses and lies," said ASVIPO which stands ready to provide governmental and non-governmental organizations cogent proofs on Polisario's human rights breaches and embezzlement of humanitarian aid.
