Righteousness, the basis of Islamic preaching, minister

Modesty and righteousness are the basis of the Islamic "Daawa" (preaching), said in Tripoli, Libya, Moroccan minister of Habous (endowments) and Islamic affairs, Ahmed Taoufiq, at the 14th conference of the World Council of Islamic Daawa, organized by the Association of World Islamic Call.

Daawa is no synonym of propaganda, the minister said, adding that the Moroccan merchants who contributed in spreading Islam did it by serving as models due to their good behavior and by being the best example themselves.

The meeting was marked by several speeches warning against wars and conflicts resulting from the decline in spiritual values in a time of technological and scientific progress. Participants also called for dialogue between civilizations as the best means to avoid clashes and conflicts.
