The Moroccan and Emirati carriers, Royal Air Maroc (RAM) and Emirates Airlines announced Wednesday the sealing of a code-sharing agreement to be applied as of October 1st.

The deal covers the three weekly Dubai-Casablanca-Dubai flights of the Emirati group.

Royal Air Maroc said in a release the accord also provides for cooperation between the two companies in RAM-serviced destinations in East Africa and Southeastern Asian ones covered by Emirates Airlines.

The two companies have also set up an attractive fare system to promote traffic between the two countries.

RAM services 67 destinations in 40 European, African, Middle-East and North-American countries. It carries some 3.5 million passengers a year and makes a 7 billion dirham (nearly $700 million) turnover.

Emirates Airlines, which is present in Morocco since 2002, services 67 destinations in 47 countries. It has carried a total of 8.5 billion passengers last year.
