Originally published

Palestinian sources in Hebron said yesterday that the Israeli occupation forces took out the body of Bassel al-Qawasmi, one of the Hamas cadres from under the ruins of a house it had destroyed in Hebron earlier in the day.

The occupation forces besieged a house owned by the family of one of Hamas activist and claimed that fire was set from inside it and then bombarded the house using tanks shelling.

Meantime, news reports said the occupation forces is holding 12 members of one family inside a room after their house was confiscated in Khella quarters in Jenin. Owners of the house said that the Israeli soldiers gathered them inside a room in the basement and confiscated the upper flat and converted it into a military barrack and permitted no one to enter nor to get out.

On the other hand, the Israeli military court extended the extension of the deputy secretary of the People's Front for Liberation of Palestine, Abdul Rahim Mallouh, for 50 days. Worthy mentioning that Mallouh was detained at his house in Ramullah 14 months ago and is still under trial.

At the political level, the Palestinian President Yasser Arafat renewed his commitment to the peace plan, better known as the roadmap. This was expressed in a message he sent to the meeting of the Quartet which will be held on the sideline of the UN General Assembly in New York.
