Syrian- Russian party talks

Vice President and Deputy Chairman of the National Progressive Front, Zohair Masharqa, received in Damascus on Monday head of the Russian National Resurrection, People's Will Party, Sergy Paporin and an accompanying delegation.

Talks during the meeting dealt with the relations connecting the two countries and the necessity for bolstering them in the interest of the two peoples.

Talks also touched upon the aggressions by Israel against the Palestinian people where both sides underlined the "necessity for the Israeli withdrawal from the occupied Arab territories and the implementation of the international relevant resolutions."

Regarding Iraq, both sides reviewed the dangers threatening the region due to the occupation of Iraq stressing the importance of giving a main role to the United Nations for helping the Iraqi people to restore their independence, sovereignty and to exercise self-determination.

For his part, Paporin highly lauded Syria's stances under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad towards what is going on in the world. He stressed the Russian National Resurrection Party stands by Syria's just struggle defending the Arab Nation's causes.
