Bashir gets a telephone call from Powell

Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir yesterday received a telephone call from the US Secretary of State Colin Powell.

The Sudanese foreign minister Mustafa Othman Ismael said in statements yesterday that Powell stressed during the telephone call the need to continue the peace process in Sudan and exert efforts to sign a peace agreement between the Sudanese government and the rebels.
