Fahmi: Egypt ready to support oil industries in Sudan
Egypt and Sudan began talks for cooperation in exploring, producing and marketing oil, gas and petrochemicals.
Minister of Petroleum Sameh Fahmi, held talks with Sudanese counterpart Awad al-Gaz.
The talks focused on putting into effect the protocol for joint cooperation both countries signed in June, Fahmi said at a joint press conference with al-Gaz.
The two sides also discussed allowing Egyptian companies to bid for oil and gas exploration and refinery contracts in Sudan, he added.
Gaz said the protocol will help increase trade exchange and consolidate economic ties between the two countries.
The two sides are expected to hold a final session to agree on the joint ventures to be set up in the coming period.
