An assassination attempt against al-Seistani representative in Baghdad

The representative of the Shiite figure Ayatullah Ali al-Seistani in Baghdad, Ali al-Wa'izi al-Musawe, was exposed to an assassination attempt on Tuesday carried out at least by ten attackers outside al-Kazemeyah mosques in Baghdad.

Al-Musawe explained that he was heading yesterday from his house to al-Kazemeyah mosque to perform his prayer when men opened fire at him.

He said that two of the attackers opened fire from the roof of a hotel used by visitors off the mosque while three opened fire from a small bus and two others from a sedan car. He said that his guards retaliated the fire.
