Morocco, Canada cooperation program to align vocational training to market needs
Morocco and Canada singed here Monday a protocol of entente to back the introduction of skills approaches (APC) in the Moroccan vocational training system.
The project seeks to increase the capacity of Moroccan human resources adaptation to the demands of international competition, ambassador of Canada in Rabat, Yves Gagnon, said, adding that "the improvement of skills goes through the improvement of companies' skills and investment in staff training."
The project, which extends over 5 years, deals with six sectors, namely textile, tourism, new information and communication technologies, metallurgical, mechanic, electric and electronic industries, craftsmanship and agriculture. It is funded by a 10 million Canadian dollar donation of the Canadian Agency for International Development (ACDI).
A coordination committee and seven follow-up committees will be created to follow up the project which was signed by secretary of state in charge of vocational training, Said Oulbacha, and Canada's ambassador to Morocco.
