With Pyramids standing aloft in the background and a hope for peace to prevail in the world, prolific Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli will give a concert Wednesday.

Amid an international fanfare, the concert which comes as part of the Cairo International Song Festival, is to be attended by 3000 people, the full capacity of the theater set up beside the Pyramids.

Under the motto of Concerto of Hope in Peace," Bocelli will give the concert with a call for international peace to be made at the Pyramids.

Such major events aim at highlighting Egypt's true cultural image, Minister of Tourism Mamdouh El-Beltagi said.

Al-Beltagi will receive the Italian artist who arrives Tuesday in Cairo.

Bocelli's classical releases as "Aria," Sacred Arias," "Verdi" and his recordings of Puccini's "La Boh me" and Verdi's "Requiem" have made him the top-selling classical artist in history, with worldwide sales of more than 45 million.

In 2000, he released his pop album, "Sentimento" before his top two-disc release of "Tosca."
