A joint committee of religious leaders to take up common issues

Representatives of the Islamic community in the USA presented an initiative to Pope Shenouda III, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of St.Mark Province who is currently visiting the USA, in which they called for setting up a joint committee to include different religious leaders of Muslims and Orthodox, Evangelicans and Catholics for creating dialogue and coordination among them continuously.

Pope Shenouda welcomed the idea and promised to give it due attention so as the suggested committee can take up all issues of interest to the second generation of immigrant youth.

He expressed hope that it will include capable cadres so that they can be involved in the public works such as elections at all levels and they can render a sort of political weight in the USA.
