La Republica: Ghali and the American foreign policy

Originally published

Former Secretary General of the United Nations Botrus Botrus Ghali has criticized the American foreign Policy, particularly in Iraq, and called on it to avoid playing the role of the world policeman.

In an interview with Italian La Republica newspaper issued yesterday, he asserted that America doesn't have enough troops or military supplies to enable it to play the role of the world policeman asserting that America will be compelled to seek the support of the United Nations.

He also condemned the bomb attack which targeted the United Nations' headquarter in Baghdad asserting that such an attack should remind the Western countries of the necessity for working hard to realize security in Iraq.
