German chancellor to visit Egypt

The German ambassador in Cairo Martin Coppler said yesterday that the German chancellor, Gerhard Schroeder, will visit Egypt in the first week of October.

In a statement in Cairo yesterday, the German ambassador added that Schroeder will hold during this visit talks with the president Hosni Mubarak concentrating on the development of conditions in the middle east region and the Iraqi issue as well as means of strengthening trade and economic cooperation between Egypt and Germany.
