Sudanese minister denies news on selling land for debt

The Sudanese minister of agriculture Majzoub al-Khaleifa denied what was rumored in Sudanese papers on Sudan's selling of large areas of "Halfa" district ( almost one million Faddan of lands) to Egypt for debts that Sudan owe for Egypt.

He also denied in a statement to the Sudanese media center yesterday that Sudan had sold Libya 400,000 Faddans of the lands of the Northern province for debts to Libya Sudan has to pay.

Al-Khaleifa said that the raised controversy on this matter is false and groundless allegations, stressing that no settlements to this effect were made to this effect.

Several Libyan businessmen explained they had invested some 2 million dollars in the Agricultural Sundis project in Sudan.
