On al-Assad - Abdullah meeting

Syria's President Bashar al-Assad yesterday held a meeting with Saudi Prime Minister and Chief of the National Guard Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Abdullah Ibn Abdul Aziz on the regional and international situation including the situation in Iraq and the Palestinian territories.

Talks also dealt with ways of developing and activating the joint Arab action to support Arab steadfastness against the current challenges facing the Arab nation.

The two sides reviewed the international political plans concerning the issues of the region and the necessity for adopting unified position towards them in a way that meets Arab aspirations of living in peace and stability.

Later in the evening, President al-Assad held a dinner in honor of Crown Prince Abdullah.

The dinner was attended by the two vice- presidents, the prime minister and his deputies, a number of ministers, and the Saudi crown prince accompanying delegation.
