Powell: negotiations with Libya over Lockerbie issue is in a critical position

The US secretary of state Colin Powell said yesterday that negotiations concerning Libya's responsibility over the Lockerbie issue are at a very critical phase.

Powell said he wants to know more from his aides concerning the position of the families of the victims about the current discussions before he comments on that case.
