European refusal of war on Iraq 'sound stand', says Moussa
The Arab League's Secretary General, Amr Moussa, on Friday termed as a "sound stand" the refusal of European countries to engage in a war against Iraq.
Moussa told Morocco's TV station "TVM" Arab Foreign Affairs ministers' extraordinary meeting (held in Cairo on Feb.15-16) will consult on the Iraqi crisis in the light of reports presented at the United Nations Security Councils by the UN's Chief inspectors.
The extraordinary meeting will have to adopt clear recommendations, said Moussa, terming as "a positive step" Qatar's proposal to convene an extraordinary summit of the Organization of the Islamic Conference.
Egypt, through its Foreign Affairs minister, Ahmed Maher, had previously requested from the Arab League's SG to convene, at the earliest, an extraordinary Arab summit in Cairo to discuss the Iraqi issue.
