USA launches program for women entrepreneurs
The U.S. embassy in Rabat announced the start of the Middle East Executive Training program (MEET U.S. Program) of Business Development Training for women entrepreneurs and middle managers in Spring 2003.
The MEET U.S., part of the U.S. Government's Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI), will bring Arab executives to the United States for professional development and business-related training.
The first MEET U.S. Program will be for women entrepreneurs and middle managers. It will be geared specifically to small and medium-sized businesses and will last approximately four weeks.
A second program later in 2003 will be open to both male and female entrepreneurs.
MEET U.S. is administered by the International Trade Administration in the U.S. Department of Commerce.
The Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI), announced by Secretary of State Colin Powell on December 12, 2002, is an official U.S. government program to give sustained support to economic, educational and political reform in the Middle East.
