The Yemeni foreign minister Abu Baker Abdullah al-Qurabi has stressed that the current Arab situation has been witnessing grave developments. A matter which requires a united Arab stances to counter these developments.

In a statement to Oman daily issued yesterday, al-Qurabi stressed that there are positive indicators which show the desire of the Arab states to withstand the challenge and reform the Arab condition. He indicated there is a likely possibility that lobby centers at the Pentagon will seek to fabricate a grave crisis and to explode the situation with an aggression against Iraq, despite Iraq's positive position.

Al-Qurabi added that the war against Iraq, and controlling its resources will increase political insecurity and cause tremendous changes in it.

He stressed that Israel always tries to exploit any differences among the countries of the region in order to strengthen its influence. He added that Israel wants to control the Red Sea, noting these Israeli attempts require the Arab states to intensify their efforts against that.
