Case of bogus cruise jobs referred to justice, minister
Moroccan minister of employment, social affairs and solidarity, Mustapha Mansouri, said Wednesday his department has officially referred the case of 30,000 bogus cruise ship job to justice.
Talking at question-time of the House of representatives, the official said a meeting was held on Tuesday to draw the list of victims of Anajat marine company and set the amount of compensation of fees they incurred to prepare their application file. Victims will be indemnified next week, he announced.
A group of Moroccan job hopefuls were lured by an ad of 30,000 job opportunities in cruise ships.
The minister said embassies of friendly countries were approached to find jobs outside Morocco for these people and hoped that they will be offered other job opportunities.
Meanwhile, he went on, urgent measures will be taken to restructure the agency for employment and skills promotion (ANAPEC) that acted as a mediator in order to avoid the recurrence of similar situations in the future.
